With its advantageous location close to the I-15, I-10 and 210 freeways, Fontana has evolved from its agricultural and steel-producing roots into a thriving distribution and transportation center. Now with more than 139,000 residents, the city draws many young and growing families who can appreciate proximity to schools, shopping, employment centers, numerous parks and other recreational facilities.
Fontana Villas children will attend schools in the Fontana Unified School District, including A.B. Miller High School, located right across the street. Among the area’s colleges and universities are the two-year institutions of Chaffey Community College and San Bernardino Valley College, as well as California State University at San Bernardino, the University of California at Riverside, the Claremont Colleges and Cal Poly Pomona.
Fontana is surrounded by some of Southern California’s premier recreation destinations, including the mountain resort areas of Big Bear Lake, Lake Arrowhead and Idyllwild within the San Bernardino National Forest. The forest also offers scenic areas for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and world-class fishing. Racing enthusiasts will find plenty of thrills at the California Speedway, which features NASCAR and other racing events. Fontana Villas is only moments from the beautiful Sierra Lakes Golf Club and several other popular golf courses. Residents will also benefit from Fontana’s nearly 40 community parks, sports parks and recreation centers, which provide activities for all ages and interests.
The exciting new Victoria Gardens shopping and entertainment center is just a short drive away, offering more than 110 shops, a wide range of dining opportunities, a 12-screen movie theater complex and open-air gathering areas. One of the nation’s few professional theaters dedicated primarily to youth is also located at Victoria Gardens. At Ontario Mills Mall, visitors find more than 200 shops featuring the best names in retail, along with a 30-screen cinema complex, the Improv Comedy Club and diverse dining choices. The 1,000-seat Civic Auditorium is a cultural focal point for Fontana, providing a venue for musical, dance and theatrical performances, film series and community activities, as well as corporate presentations.
